Dr. Zampitella holds a Fellow in Thanatology (the highest honor of expertise in death, loss, and bereavement). With over 19 years experience, Dr. Zampitella's expertise in grief and bereavement has been used in several publications, international conferences, workshops, interviews on radio shows, regular television news interviews on both NBC and FOX News, newspapers, and consultations with organizations.  As an adjunct professor at both National University and Alliant International University, she teaches in-training graduate level therapists, grief courses, spirituality courses, psychotherapy skills, human behavior, adult development, amongst many others. She also strives to help therapists identify the unique nature of complicated and uncomplicated bereavement responses, assessment, and treatment of grief via presentations internationally.  She is a national professional speaker providing trainings on ADHD and grief. She served as the Chair of the Continuing Education Committee for the San Diego Psychological Association from 2007-2009.

Dr. Zampitella's doctoral training was conducted in the first APA (American Psychological Association) accredited clinical psychology program with an Integrative emphasis in the United States at San Diego's California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University.  She has taught multiple doctoral and Master's degree level courses in Integrative Psychology and bereveament. She has written several articles on the use of Integrative Psychology in therapy, conducted seminars and trainings in Integrative Psychology, and is the lead developer of the Psychology of Religion course at National University.

Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

ADHD is a complex disorder that is biologically based and often misdiagnosed or confused with other issues such as learning disabilities. Dr. Zampitella offers ADHD and learning disability assessments that do not just rely on behavioral observations. In order to get an accurate diagnosis, and to know how ADHD is expressed by the individual uniquely, Dr. Zampitella conducts thorough assessments.

Additionally, she offers ADHD coaching, ensuring that the individual find ways to work around any challenges associated with the deficits of the disorder.
